The following reforms and investments are highlighted in the Recovery Plan news bulletin for the week of 07-13 January 2023:

The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) has opened the application period for the second call of the MOVES FLOTAS programme, with funding of 50 million euros. The aim is to further encourage the electrification of the light-duty vehicle fleet of companies and the institutional public sector. Priority will be given to projects with the highest CO2 emission reductions, the best employment benefits and the highest industrial value creation. The application period is open from 9 January to 8 March. The aid ceiling per beneficiary amounts to a total of EUR 2.5 million.

In line with its commitment to a more sustainable energy model, the Council of Ministers has approved the Royal Decree granting 74 million for the start-up of four renewable hydrogen projects in Spain, which will mobilise an investment of more than 245 million. These projects will be implemented by the companies H2B2, SENER, Nordex and IVECO, which are part of the European Commission’s Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI).

In the field of tourism and heritage care, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism has published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) the rules governing the line of aid for the programme to improve the competitiveness and revitalisation of historical heritage for tourist use.. The aim of this aid is to improve the competitiveness of tourist destinations and to promote cultural tourism through the protection, maintenance and rehabilitation of historical heritage properties declared to be of cultural interest. The envelope for this call is more than ¤208 million.

Among the upcoming calls for proposals, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation has called for grants for 5G projects in key sectors of the economy, amounting to 60 million euros. The aim is to promote a productive fabric based on 5G applications and services, in order to strengthen Spain’s role as one of the driving forces behind digitalisation in the EU as a whole. The deadline for applications is 13 February and will end on 3 March.
